After a while, the party in the third-class quarter gets a little bit too rowdy, and the two of them slip away. The deck on which they emerge is deserted and faintly illuminated by the light streaming through the glass of portholes.
The crispness of the air outside makes Castiel slightly dizzy after the fumes of the quarters, or maybe it's the beer, or all the spinning. He reaches for the railing to steady himself, but Dean seems to be a step ahead of him, catching his hands and pulling him close.
"You know," he breathes into Castiel's ear, "I really wanted to dance with you for real back there, not just pretend to goof about."
Castiel waits for him to continue, but he says nothing else, but they end up sort of dancing to the rhythm of the ocean, or maybe the distant hum of the engines of the ship. And it probably should feel weird, but it doesn't, because Dean's hands are incredibly warm despite the cold night, and because it all is doing nothing at all to stop him from feeling a little bit dizzy.
